Kiehl’s Since 1851 proudly announces a partnership with multi-JUNO Award-winning Canadian performers Tegan and Sara. Kiehl’s Pride with Tegan and Sara will allow customers and fans across the country to support The Tegan and Sara Foundation, whose mission is to improve the lives of LGBTQ girls and women.

For over 165 years, Kiehl’s has always focused its efforts on the betterment of local communities by targeting philanthropic endeavors on the needs and concerns of its citizens. Over Kiehl’s long history of charitable giving, the company has supported three key causes: children’s wellbeing, environmental issues, and HIV/AIDS research. Since 2006, Kiehl’s has raised over $2.5M for children’s causes worldwide. Maintaining our mission of giving back to the community, in 2014 Kiehl’s launched charitable programs to help organizations across Canada helping children and youth.

In 2017, Kiehl’s is excited to be working with Grammy nominated singers, musicians and songwriters Tegan and Sara. Tegan and Sara began their career in Calgary as teenagers, and have since gone on to achieve global recognition. Their career numbers are impressive – over 1 million albums sold, 7 Gold certifications, 1 Double Platinum certification, 3 Juno Awards, 2 Polaris Prize nominations, and a Grammy nomination. They have performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, from the 2015 Oscar Telecast to major festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza and Glastonbury.

Through this year’s program, Kiehl’s will be supporting the Tegan and Sara Foundation (TSF). Created in 2016, the Tegan and Sara Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ girls and women around the world, with an initial focus on improving economic opportunity, access to health services, and media representation.

Theory of Change: TSF will activate and unite influencers, fans and service providers to break down the cultural and institutional barriers that discriminate against and repress LGBTQ girls and women.

Program Areas: TSF’s initial work will address economics, representation, and health – three areas where LGBTQ communities face the biggest challenges.

On the importance of the partnership, Tegan and Sara explain their longstanding relationship with the brand:

Kiehl’s is also very happy to support this worthy cause.

Customers and fans across the country are invited to participate in the Tegan and Sara Foundation partnership through the following initiatives:

Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cleansers: Kiehl’s will create a limited edition line of customer favorites, the Ultra Facial Cleanser and the Oil Free Ultra Facial Cleanser. This line will feature an original label design by Tegan and Sara and their longtime Art Director. The line will be available at Kiehl’s stores nationwide in January, with 100% of net profits donated to the Tegan and Sara Foundation*

Performance: During the winter, Kiehl’s will host a secret performance with Tegan and Sara in Canada. Customers and fans will be invited to visit Kiehl’s stores to participate in an exclusive contest throughout the month of January. Then, winners will be surprised with an exclusive invitation to the special event. This unique experience is our way of giving back to those who help us support the Tegan and Sara Foundation.

*Through this campaign, our objective is to raise $50,000 for the Tegan and Sara Foundation in Canada.

The products will be in store across Canada as of the first week of January 2017 and will be sold $26 each.
