Trick-or-Treat! Give Me Something Good To Eat! October 2018

I will start off by saying that I’ve been spoiling my self this month. I treated my self to a lovely lunch at Kwan Dim Sum Cuisine at Scarborough Town Centre. It was so delicious and fresh. The customer service was amazing and I will be going back very soon for more Dim Sum. So delicious!

The fall weather brings on the importance of eating a lot of delicious chocolate and drinking cozy yummy tea. Yes very important. 🙂 Sweet Georgia Browns! Oh Yes! Purdys is one of my favourite Chocolatiers. Delicious!

Shake the Winter Blues Away And Get Hygge With It!

Winter can bring on melancholic feelings and I’m here to give you a few tips to help you get through the rut! The sun is not out as long. Sunshine is lacking. Pick up some vitamin D! There are a few things that I like to do in the winter to stay cozy and positive. First thing is have a CUPPA! I prefer coffee in the morning, noon or anytime really. A MUST! Get cozy with a CUPPA! You can spike it if that’s what makes you cozy. Not I though. I don’t like alcohol. But I do love chocolate and marshmallows. *Mug in this photo from Avon.ca

Taking hot baths in the winter really feels relaxing and rejuvenating. I love LUSH and you all probably know that already. My husband bought me a Christmas Lush Box. A must in the winter is to snack on healthy food and I kindly received Sabra Hummus to review which I said YES to because I love delicious food. Snacking and drinking water really helps in the winter. Important to keep our energy up. These three are my favourite. The Olive Hummus, the Spicy Hummus and the roasted red pepper! So delicious! Delicious and healthy!

I also enjoy reading a lot during the winter months. I just finished the Novel “The Break” written by Katherena Vermette. It’s an incredible novel and also Canadian.

I hope this blog post inspires you to do more things that make you happy.

The original Pearl and Daisy were two sisters who grew up in a small Nova Scotia village a hundred years ago, when soap was made by hand. That’s the way we do it today, using all-natural ingredients that nourish the skin and delight the senses.

I’ve written an article about their products in February and I’m so pleased and enthusiastic to write yet another article about them. Each product is unique and beautiful and focuses on hydration and care for the skin in the most natural and nourishing way. Let me show you each one and I’ll discuss the ingredients and benefits of each. I will also include my review for each product as well.

*Soothing facial mask (Lemon Balm, Honey and Plantain)

About the product

These 100% natural facial masks blend hand-picked botanicals, with benefits of traditional plant lore backed by science. In a small bowl, mix 1 Tbsp with just enough water to make a smooth paste. Apply evenly over skin and relax while the mask dries. Rinse with water, gently towel dry, and finish with Floral Water Skin Tonic.

Ingredients: finely ground Canadian oats, kaolin clay, lemon balm leaf, honey, plantain leaf, neem leaf, marshmallow root.

The Soothing lemon balm, honey and plantain face mask is so gentle and leaves the skin feeling really clean and soft. It was easy to mix and use and very simple to apply. As I sat in a hot bath with the lavender bath fizzer, I really loved having the face mask on. Very soothing and relaxing. The formula doesn’t have a strong scent and it is very gentle. I love how natural this product is and it truly works. I really recommend this mask. If you’ve never tried a mask before you should start with this one because it is natural and gentle on the skin. If you love masks and use them often you will love the *Soothing facial mask (Lemon Balm, Honey and Plantain).

*Veranda – Lemon verbena & thyme (SQUARE BAR SOAP)

A tribute to summer afternoons spent lingering in the shade of painted porches, the Veranda collection blends the joyful summer scent of lemon verbena with essential oil distilled from the hand-picked leaves and flowers of sweet white thyme.

Ingredients: sodium olivate, sodium cocoate, sodium palmate, litsea cubeba essential oil, thymus vulgaris essential oil, lippia citriodora (lemon verbena) leaf.

Ah! Summer incapsulated in a soap bar! This smells like lemon fields and sunshine! I adore this soap and it is so invigorating and refreshing. It really heightens and soothes the senses. The formula of the soap is fantastic and gentle. The natural ingredients really make the skin soft and very clean. There’s no residue and the only thing left after using this bar is a great scented and nourished skin. I highly recommend Pearl & Daisy soap bars. They are amazing and work so beautifully. Did you read my first review of the Orange Bath bomb from Pearl & Daisy? In my first review I express a huge excitement and enthusiasm for these bath bombs because to be honest they are the best ones that I’ve ever used. The previous bath bomb felt like I was bathing in pool of creamsicle heaven! Truly scrumptious! The Lavender bath bomb was like floating in a field of lavender and sleeping quietly and soothingly in la-la land.

Our 100% natural bath bombs are beautifully scented and made with moisturizing coconut oil. They’re about the size of a tennis ball (2.5″) and weight about 150g.

Ingredients: baking soda, citric acid, organic coconut oil, sunflower seed oil, organic aroma and essential oils.

I’ve never used a body balm like this before! At first I thought it was a deodorant. When I read ‘body balm’ and ‘lavender’ I got all excited because the application process is so unique and I love it! No need to get my hands dirty! I used this right out of the shower and I’m absolutely in love with this body balm. Obsessed! It is very hydrating and nourishing for the skin. The lavender scent really helps with sleep too. It is so soothing, creamy and soft. Glides on like silk on the skin and is so comforting and beautiful. It’s not greasy and smells divine!

This soap bar is really lovely and gentle. The scent is also soft and gentle and I find that the bar lathers really nicely. I use my loofa and foam it up. It is truly relaxing and soothing to the senses and skin. My skin feels very soft and smooth and this is truly non drying. I feel this bar soap really moisturizes the skin and keeps the skin clean and hydrated.

Bath Bombs

The scent of this Orange Vanilla bath bomb is AMAZING! When I placed this bath bomb in the water it started fizzing and the scent slowly filled the room! It was orange creamsicle heaven! The essential oils in the bath bomb are really hydrating and nourishing. The natural oils that are released from this bath fizzer are so blissful and truly changed my mood. Very nourishing good for the skin and relaxing.

Holiday Gift Guide #Blogmas Day 11

I don’t know if you know this but I am a very big fan of LUSH. I kindly and lovingly received the “Sleeps ‘Til Christmas” box! I don’t have a picture of the STARDUST bath bomb but it was so beautiful to bathe in! When I put it in the bath the little red and blue stars were all over the bath. The stars of course disintegrated slowly but it was so pretty to bathe in little stars! Truly pretty and magical!
