Books, PR and Gratitude

Started reading two books. One I like and the other I’m not enjoying as much. Can you guess which one I’m not enjoying as much? I’m not enjoying “The Subtle Art of not Giving a F*CK” by Mark Manson. So far I’m finding it negative, pessimistic and the writing is all over the place. I’m at the beginning so I will let you know my full thoughts when I complete the book. As for the book “You Are A Badass” by Jen Sincero, so far I’m liking it a lot. It’s more positive and humorous.

How is your February going? I’m working on new project ideas and new art ideas. I’m enjoying watching my kitchen slowly transform. I’m enjoying my matcha vanilla tea from David’s Tea. It’s so good. I’m also loving my “grandpa cardigan” that’s what I call it but it’s not. I bought it on sale from Mark’s. MOSSY OPEN CARDIGAN. Loving my Avon cozy slippers. The slippers were gifted to me last Christmas and yes I love them and they keep my feet warm and cozy.

Here are some amazing goodies that I won on IG! Please Join me on IG if you like @Bestdayblogger.Beautiful Cards by Carlton Cards on Twitter. Beautiful Face masks from SooAE Canada.

Being Different is Wonderful!

banner fall blog

I got my nose pierced! I’m very excited and happy that I finally did it! For the longest time I’ve wanted to pierce my nose. There’s a story behind why I did it. I not only did it because I love nose rings but here is why…

Growing up I was bullied and called many hurtful names because of the shape of my nose. I was called horrible hurtful names and I was so devastated and felt so bad. I wanted to change my nose many times and get surgery. I didn’t like my nose at all. In fact I hated it.

I slowly learned to love and appreciate having a different nose. I’ve grown to love it now and I’m so happy. I no longer focus on the bullies and the hurtful words. I focus on how much I LOVE my nose. I focus on the positive. I really LOVE my self now more then ever. I love my nose because it is different. Being different is a WONDERFUL thing to me. Every flower, every leaf is beautiful and unique in its own way. That’s how I look at it.

Children can be mean because they don’t know better. They don’t understand or haven’t been taught that everyone has a different shape nose, lips, eyes and everyone is beautiful in their own way. I tell my girls everyday they are beautiful inside and out. I tell my girls everyday that everyone is unique and very special in their own way and we must love and appreciate these differences. Respect each person and treat each person with care and kindness.

I will continue to teach my daughters about being kind to themselves and to others. We are not perfect and learning is a part of life. It’s okay to mess up sometimes. Every time a mistake is made we learn from it.

I’m not upset or mad at the people who called me names. I learned from my experience. I feel we should talk about these issues more and also talk to our children about being kind and not using hurtful words.

Respect, kindness and love!

Words hold more power then we think.

Focus on the positive, speak from the heart.

Empower and strengthen with positivity and don’t be afraid to speak up and Share your story! Lead life with your heart!

BEING DIFFERENT IS WONDERFUL!
BEAUTIFUL!

CELEBRATE IT!
DRESS IT UP AND LOVE IT!

Valentine’s Day Heart Brownies

blog cover brownies

I’m absolutely in love with these heart brownies! They look so festive and pretty.  They came out delicious and moist. Not too sweet and very delicious! Perfect to serve at a party or just enjoy at home with the family.

I bought a heart shaped mould from Michaels and it’s the Wilton Brand. I also use pink and white Wilton Candy Melts and Wilton Sprinkles.

 INGREDIENTS

(IN A BLENDER MIX)

1/2 Cup Avocado Oil

1 Cup Sugar

1 tbs Skinny Coconut Oil

1 tbs Pure Vanilla Extract

1/2 Vanilla pot seeds

1 tbs Honey

1/2 Cup Milk

2 Eggs

In another bowl mix

1 Cup Flour

1/3 Cup Cocoa Powder

1/4 tsp Salt

1/4 tsp baking powder

With a spatula mix the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients and then add

1 Apple grated. (WITH NO SKIN)

The apple will help keep the brownies lovely and moist. I spray the mould with baking spray and fill it up but leave about 1/2 inch from the top. the brownies will rise and you’ll trim them when they cool.

Bake in a 350F oven for 24 min

Let them cool and cut the tops off if they rise. I cut the tops off and turned them upside down.  I then melted the candy melts in the microwave and drizzled the melts all over the hearts. After I decorated them I placed them in the fridge for 15 minutes so the candy melts harden.

When decorating a great Tip is to keep parchment paper under the cooling rack to avoid mess. It was very fun decorating these Valentine’s Day Brownie hearts!

These came out so pretty, delicious and moist. I love how this recipe turned out and I hope you try it too! The grated apple makes a huge difference. It creates a lovely moisture. I also love the honey and coconut oil. It gives something special to the brownies. The candy melts compliments the brownie and is not too sweet but provides a lovely crunch and sweetness. The sprinkles not only look pretty but give a lovely texture.
