Hello September! 2021

I can’t believe it’s September. How are you my friends? I hope you are taking good care of your selves and are keeping safe and healthy. As for me I’m healing nicely and I’m continuing my cancer Journey with a positive mindset. It is truly hard some days. But I’m staying positive.

Last weekend we went to Port Perry and had fish and chips and I bought a book from the local book shop. It was lovely to get out and forget about my worries!

It’s that time of the year when I start planning October posts. Fall is my favourite time of the year. Autumn makes me happy. Books make me happy. Food makes me happy. I love all the colours that change in Autumn. I love cooler weather and the delicious autumnal foods. Do you have a bucket list? What are your favourite Fall things to do and see? Here is my bucket lists from previous years. I hope you try some of these out.

I will probably try to do a couple of blog posts but I don’t have time to do one for every day in October. I wish I could. 🎃 🍁

Health: I am doing well my friends. I’m continuing my radiation. I have 16 more to do. I am also continuing Herceptin. I’m feeling good and I just have a few aches and pains but I’m healing nicely. Radiation side effects don’t show up until two weeks later so I’ll keep you posted. I’m vlogging my radiation journey on my YouTube channel. If you like please subscribe. My hair is growing back but very very slowly.

THANK YOU

I will start off by saying thank you to Ulysses Press for the following two cookbooks: “The Un official hocus-pocus cookbook” by Bridget Thoreson and “The Unofficial Hogwarts cookbook for kids” by Alana Al-Hatlani. I am a huge fan of Hocus Pocus and Harry Potter so these two cookbooks are amazing!!! SuPeR FuN!

They have amazing Fall recipes in both cookbooks and I look forward to trying a few of them out. I will definitely share them with you when I make them. Some include pumpkin bread, pumpkin soup, hot chocolate and more.

Hello September! 🍂 🍁 🍃

Dear Sunflower,

I thought you wouldn’t make it but here you are, opening up your petals and facing the sun. I admire your beauty and elegance.

Sunflower opened its petals
one day to another
facing the sun with love.

I’ve been in a creative mode. Trying to keep busy and creative this month. I’m trying to write as many posts that I can for October. It’s challenging but fun. I’ve been reading, writing and drawing. I’ve been enjoying writing in my journal with a new fountain pen! It’s a lovely gift from my husband and I love it so much. ❤️ We went on a couple of road trips in Ontario. First stop was in Perth.

Perth, Ontario 2020

Perth is a lovely little place and I recommend visiting in the Fall. 🍁 A cute little town with a beautiful park and river and shops. Also really cute Book Stores and a huge vintage shop. I only went for the day and I wish I had stayed for the weekend. A lovely place and the park is so stunning.

I also visited The Big Apple in Colborne Ontario and bought incredible pies and apple bread. We bought pecan pie, apple caramel crumble pie, apple maple pie and apple bread. So delicious! The best pies that I’ve ever tasted. I recommend you go first thing when they open because it gets very very busy at lunch.

I’ve also visited a couple of Vintage shops. Vintage shops make me happy. It’s like an adventure and traveling back in time. One vintage shop in Perth Ontario and the other in Colborne Ontario. If you walk into a small town vintage shop you can tell a lot about the History of the town. Very beautiful in my opinion. So many stories in each piece. In the Perth vintage shop I found this lovely candle stick holder. I was looking for something like this and there it was!

When I was in Colborne Ontario I visited a vintage shop and found a very old book that’s a childhood favourite: Heidi by Johanna Spyri. The cover of the book has fallen off and the book is very fragile. I opened up the book to a random page and this is where it landed…

Sometimes things happen for a reason. I believe it. ❤️ Everything in good time.

The book broke from the spine and broke in half to pg.112-113. The passage speaks to me in so many ways. ❤️ I believe that this is a sign from the Universe. Do you believe in Signs?

I won a bunch of books and popcorn last month. I’m so grateful! The popcorn 🍿 didn’t last long. 😋 Thank you to @bookbrunch and @eatableinc on Instagram for the lovely books and popcorn.

I kindly won the book Heatwave written by Kate Riordan from @ohthebooksshewillread & @GrandcentralPub. Also about 7 weeks ago I won The Lions Den written by Katherine St. John from Jennifer Bairos on IG @jennbairos. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all these lovely book loving people for the wins. I’m truly blessed and lucky. Thank you.

I bought new reading glasses. They are my favourite. I like a big frame. They are simple and lovely. I do have to go back and have them adjust my prescription though. They made them too strong and I get really bad migraines.

Thank you all so much for reading my post. I hope you have a beautiful September and I wish you all the best. Positivity, kindness and love. God bless!

Hello September! Thoughts and Goals

banner september

Dear September,

I hope that this month will be a smooth transition for my children. Going  back to school can be an emotional time for them. I pray that the weather changes gently and that we continue to embrace each moment with gratitude. This month I want to focus on helping and guiding my children toward building new healthy relationships with their teachers and fellow students. To be positive and steer away from negativity.

My goal this September is to nourish the girls with healthy lunches and offer them new foods as well. I like to get my ideas from Pinterest most of the time. Check out my Pinterest Board SCHOOL LUNCHES. I would like to boost their immunity and help them fight anything that might come their way. I will remind them to wash their hands and also take their vitamins as well. We always start taking a multivitamin and vitamin D in the Fall\Winter. I would like to make my own Elderberry Syrup recipe for the family. It’s a flu preventative. Would you like to see a recipe post? I have two pinned in the Health Pinterest Board and I might try one. HEALTH BOARD.

As the weather changes and we head toward Autumn, I want to clear out clothing that my girls no longer wear and see what I need to replace them with. I usually like to make sure I have rain boots, fall Jackets as well as umbrellas. I also like to make sure each girl has hand sanitizer, backpacks, running shoes that still fit, lunch bags and socks. Yes I said socks. I’m a huge sock lover. lol 😂

September is a month of change do you agree? I don’t want to forget about my self with the changes around me so I want to make it a goal of mine to keep my self happy, relaxed and calm. What are some things that you do when seasons change? I would love to know. Please leave me a comment.

Hello September! Paint Party Friday!

banner bestdayblogger

It’s been a long summer and I had so much fun with my girls. We went to so many places around Toronto and they loved it. We went to the Art Gallery of Ontario, The Museum, the Science Centre and the CNE. We also saw two movies this summer. We saw Despicable Me 3 and the Emoji Movie. We had a lovely lunch date with my cousin and God Mother to my eldest daughter. Anna took us to see the emoji movie and to an amazing lunch at Swiss Chalet. Anna probably won’t read this but I want to thank her so much because she always makes time for us and takes us out around this time every year.  She is truly incredible and has a big heart. We love her so much. If you’re reading this Anna, I love you and thank you!

The girls and I had fun and they are ready to go back to school. They are looking forward to it and I’m very happy for them.  I’m not ready for school lunches though. It is such a huge challenge to make school lunches. But thank goodness for Pinterest.

I would like to say thank you to Five Star Canada for the pencil case. I won it on instagram @bestdayblogger.

My daughter loves it and it’s perfect for back to school.

Speaking of back to school, I bought the girls backpacks, lunch bags and containers for their snacks and food. I also bought water bottles, binders, pencil cases, markers and pens. I think that covers it for school supplies. I still haven’t bought Fall clothing. They have fall jackets thank goodness and hopefully their winter boots will still fit this year. It’s so crazy how they grow out of their shoes and clothing every year.

Speaking of back to school how cute are these QUO Beauty Kits? I wish I had these when I was in high school or university. They are so cute and I love how colourful they are. These are available at Shoppers Drug Mart. This is not an ad. I kindly received these as samples and I love them! Super cute for back to school.
