Summer Skincare Tips and Sun Protection

Happy Summer! It’s official here! I’m very excited because I’m totally prepared for some lovely hot weather. I’m happy the sun is out and the birds are singing. So very excited for nice warm weather and sunshine on the skin. Natural vitamin D is so wonderful but I always like to use sunscreen on my children and my self. I’m going to share a few tips and products with you that I use to get my skin summer ready. I hope you share your summer get ready tips and skincare in the comments. Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. First thing I will tell you is stay hydrated! Drink lots of water!

The first thing I like to do the day before I use gradual self tanners is get rid of all the body hair. The products that I use are *AVON’s Skin so Soft Fresh & Smooth Hair removal creams. It take 2 min only. Pretty amazing and it is perfect for sensitive skin.

I also like using NAIR hair removing cream for the upper lip and I’ve just tried the *Nair Legs and body hair remover with grape seed. With this formula it takes a little longer for the hair to be removed but works really great. Just a reminder when using these hair removing products please make sure to do a patch test before using. It is important you follow the instructions that are on the package.

I recently bought gloves to exfoliate my skin. I purchased them from Shoppers Drug Mart. I like to exfoliate my body because I use a gradual self tanner and the self tanner goes on more evenly and smoothly if I exfoliate. I love using AVON Skin So Soft Satin Glow Skin Illuminator and body gel moisturizer. I also love my CLARINS Self Tanning Milky-Lotion.

I’m thinking of buying ST. Tropez because I’ve heard a lot of great things about it. What self tanners do you use? I’ve also heard lovely things about Bondi Sands Everyday Liquid Gold. Have you ever tried Bondi Sands?

So along with the gloves to exfoliate I love to use AVON Planet SPA Heavenly hydration Body Scrub, body cream and dry oil body spray. This trio is so incredible! After I exfoliate the legs I make sure to hydrate them before putting on the self tanner. This step of hydrating the skin will help with an even distribution of colour and smooth coverage.

The lovely Trio that I’ve been enjoying is *AVON PLANET SPA Heavenly Hydration with Mediterranean Olive Oil. This Trio has ultra moisturizing olive oil and a refreshing scent of crisp greens and sandalwood. The Body Scrub is invigorating and leaves skin feeling energized, 200ml for $12.00. The Dry Oil Body Spray absorbs quickly and leaves skin feeling velvety smooth, 150ml $12.00. The Body Cream is very moisturizing and has lovely beads that are infused with olive oil which leaves skin silky soft. It is non greasy and feels so lovely on the skin, 200ml $12.00. After exfoliating and hydrating my skin I apply the self tanners really well and wash my hands. I only use the self tanners two times a week. I haven’t tried using them more then that and I’ve never used it on my face. I know St. Tropez has face masks that give a really nice glow to the face and I really want to get my hands on those. Have you tried using a tanner on the face? Should you? Please let me know.

I always put my self tanners on at night because first thing in the morning I put on sunscreen. I’m obsessed with sunscreen and I will not leave the house without it. I’ve been really enjoying *Coppertone Clearly Sheer Spray for my arms and legs. It has SPF 50, broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. It is light weight sunscreen formula feels weightless on the skin, it won’t clog pores or cause breakouts. It is clinically tested on acne prone skin. It is moisturizing formula helps keep skin smooth and soft. It is appropriate to use on sensitive skin and is very light and fresh clean scent. It is water resistant for 80 minutes.

I kindly received a Shisiedo Influenster box with Free Samples to try and I’m LOVING everything! The box came with *Shiseido 50+ Wet Force BB. It is Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ and its for the face. It is water resistant for 80 Minutes. I love it so much. It is not oily. It gives a soft matte finish and I absolutely love it. It feels incredible and light. I also received the *Shiseido Urban Environment Cream with SPF 40 for the face and body. I love it! It is a bit thicker and creamy in consistency but it absorbs so nicely on the skin.

Really incredible formulas. Shiseido is incredible when it comes to sunscreen and skincare. I also received *Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil! It is amazing and very hydrating, I love how it dissolves when I wash it off with water and it leaves my skin feeling so good and hydrated. This is an incredible booster for your skin. It really helps defend against signs of stress, aging and environmental damage. I apply this after my cleanser and I absolutely love it!

This is the IBUKI Beauty Sleeping Mask. This is for one application. I love this mask. I applied this before bed and I woke up with amazing radiant and hydrated skin. It feels dewy on the skin and very soothing and hydrating.

#ShareBeauty Shiseido Event Toronto

I was really lucky to be chosen by Dave Lackie to attend Shiseido’s #Sharebeauty Event down town Toronto at the Thompson Hotel. The Hotel is very beautiful and chic! The rooftop is breathtaking and the view of down town Toronto is so stunning!

The evening started on the rooftop with lovely drinks but I was fashionably late with my good friend Cat Forsley from MyLipAddiction.com as you can see in the photo we are in the taxi running late.

That being said, I skipped the drink and took a moment to look out the window. What a view of the city! It is breathtaking!

By the way on my lips I have Ruby Woo by Mac. My first Mac Lipstick which Cat kindly and generously bought for me. Thank you so much Cat!

We were then escorted to the screening room and I was so amazed! The screening room is so huge and as you can see in the picture and in the video the room was set up so beautifully by Shiseido. I loved all the details! The tables were set up with all the beautiful products, flowers on the tables and “Oyster pails” that held cute and colourful popcorn. The colours of Shiseido everywhere ( my favourite colours red and white) and smiling beautiful faces. Details that made the #sharebeauty experience truly special, memorable and heartfelt.

There was also a makeup artist there to assist us with a skin match for Shiseido’s foundation Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation.

Also a Shiseido Skincare Specialist to assist us and test out the products such as the new IBUKI quick fix mist. You can see in the video how I tried out the product and I absolutely love it!

Each seat was beautifully decorated and the flowers added beauty and warmth to the room.

We also had a cute “Oyster Pail” filled with popcorn because we were about to watch Shiseido’s new Campaign titled #Sharebeauty which I will talk more about because it is truly a beautiful and positive campaign.

Shiseido #sharebeauty is a pay-it-forward campaign that connects people through the power of words and giving. It focuses on a statement which allows a connection to be made with someone you care and love through the power of words and thus connecting our emotions to the powerful and beautiful statement… “You are beautiful to me because…”

We were given a lovely envelope and in that envelope there was a card that allowed us to express our feelings for someone that we feel is beautiful. Beauty is not only the exterior of a human. Beauty is within and it shines through.

The lovely Elaine Shigeishi is the General Manager of Shiseido Canada. This is the first time meeting Elaine and I must tell you that she is a very inspirational speaker and presenter. Along with Dave Lackie they empower and inspire!

What’s very special about Shieseido is that Beauty is an emotion… beauty has very special feelings and its from beauty within..-Elaine Shigeishi

The first person that I though of for the #sharebeauty message is my mother-in-law,

I also wrote a note to my sister-in-law Jenny,

We also had a big card on our table and I wrote to my amazing friend Cat,

After watching the heartfelt footage for the #sharebeauty campaign and getting all emotional teary eyed and in touch with our feelings, we took a break and Thompson Hotel served the most delicious food! It was so nice and mouth watering. The meat was medium rare and the flavours were so amazing! Love the veggies and also the potatoes! I could go for another plate right now. Mouth watering and very pleasing to the tummy.

Overall it was a fabulous event filled with positivity and amazing people. It’s always such a pleasure and delight to see Dave Lackie. He brings so much positivity and sunshine to the event. I absolutely adore him and you should totally follow him on all social media. He is amazing! I’m his biggest fan!

Weekend Fun & Easter Blessings!

Hello! I hope you had a lovely Easter Weekend! I’m very blessed because I get to celebrate two Easters. The Greek Orthodox Easter is May 1st and It’s a blessing to have two celebrations. I always spend Easter with Family and it’s always so lovely. The kids play and paint eggs and we sit and eat together and have a good time. It’s always really special. I’m very grateful that we create beautiful memories especially for the children.

I posted my OOTD (outfit of the day) photo on my instagram account. This is what I wore at the family Easter Dinner. My friend Humara picked out the dress for me. Thank you so much Humara! It’s from American Eagle Outfitters. I love that store! I would buy everything from that store if I could. A really pretty floral dress and my glasses are from Reitmans, my cardigan is from Walmart, my boots are from Winners and of course the new love in my life Michael Kors handbag that my hubby bought as an early Birthday gift. I haven’t created an outfit of the day since summer and I was inspired by Humara. She is truly amazing at Style and fashion and I admire that about her. What do you think of this outfit? Would you like to see more style and fashion on my blog?

So after the wonderful dinner my sister-in-law filled our bellies with lovely desserts!

Also this weekend Humara and I went shopping at the Scarborough Town centre and I can’t wait to bring you our VLOG! We vlogged together and it was so much fun to see the new ZARA store. It is huge! There’s a men’s clothing store, women’s and children’s store! I’m putting the vlog together today. I hope to have it up by tomorrow with another post for you. The Kastor & Pollux Installation offers a lot of places to take creative photos.The installation is a collaboration with ZARA at the Scarborough town centre to offer the community a chance to win a gift card.
